HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, if I couldn't take your comment seriously, it would be laughable, Navy are totally different to army/marine/air force, its just the way it has been and always wil be, if u clook closely enough you can see them undermining each others systems, such as the army captain being only a lieutenant in the navy, and the lieutenant commander only equling major, implying that captain is that one step above colonel, things like that

The Navy flies the ships, the army(actualy marrines in this) fight off boarders and attack enemy worlds ect ect. that much is the same in every sci-fi...

I think i 'will' answer this post, thank you captain, and you should be more specific as to avoid other people providing you with answers you were otherwise familiar with. Yes, what john says is true, the ships are run by naval ranks, and marines are the... well marines frankly.
