Faster than light speed- Hyper Drive

Chemical Fuel Drive:
Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen and other chemical fuel drives are simple liquid/gas fuel rockets, currently unused in modern craft. On Earth, the first liquid drive rocket was tested by Robert Goddard in 1926 and used a combination of gasoline and liquid oxygen. The basic consept behind liquid-propellant rocket is a simple one. The vast majority of liquid rocket drives use a two-part stage consisting of the actual liquid fuel and an oxidizer like liquid oxygen. The Two are pumped into a combustion chamber where they burn, thus creating a great deal of pressure and expell a stream of hot gases at high-velocity. These gases flow through a nozzle that accelerates them further (5,000 to 10,000 MPH exit velocites being typical), as they are expelled from the Drive bell.
Plasma Drive:
Humans tested plasma drives as early as the mid-twentieth century. Early plasma drives were hydrogen, or deuterium based, powered by crude nuclear fission reactors.
Essentially, plasma drives (also known as plasma jets), fire a stream of very hot gasnin the form of charged particals, containing an equal number of positive ions and electrons. Plasma drives can produce a great deal of thurst, quickly and with great stability. Plasma drives, due to their low maintenance and simple construction, are used by less advanced races within the alliance who depend on Nuclear fusion/fission reactors.
Plasma is also an extremely good conductance of electricity, and some races actually use direct current vents in their ship, bumping plasma and powering their vessels.
Ion Drive:
Ion propulsion is a technology that involves ionizing a gas to propel a craft. Instead of a spacecraft being propelled with standard chemicals, gas like xenon (which is like neon or helium but heavier) is given an electrical charge, or ionized. It is then accelerated electricly via the use of a magnetic field, to a speed of about 30 km/second. When ions are emitted at such high speed as exauhst from a spacecraft, they puch the spacecraft inthe opposite direction.
Ion drive technology has existed on earth since the mid 20th century, but was not seriously used until the early/mid 21st century due to testing and the need for a stable power source. One of the first Ion drives to be used on a space vessel was back inthe year 1998. NASA tested this ion drive on April 30th 1996, at the NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA. It was a simple solar powered xenon ion drive, and proved that ion drive technology could be a viable replacement for primitive and less efficient chemical drives.
Ion Propulsion is far more propellantly efficient then either plasma or chemical propulsion, because it expels molecules from the drive at a much higher speed. A chemical propulsion drive has an exauhst velocity of 10,400 MPH while Ion Propulsion exauhst is 70,200 MPH or greater. Ion drives are very stable, fuel efficient, and quite powerful. Their stability and high endurance make them the sub-light drive of choice for most of the modern races.
Modern Ion drives have an exauhst of 140,000 MPH
Tech Name:Plasma Shielding
What dos it do?:Protects the ship or vehicle inside its protective bubble
How dos it work?:The Plasma shields are highly charged cold plasma fields formed around the ship. The fields are inhanced magneticly to allow them to disperse energy from something hiting the ship aswell as energy in the form of weapons. Basicly when... say a bullet is fired at the ship, the bullet starts entering a magnetic field, witch begins to repel that bullet, as its slowed it starts to enter the Cold plasma field and stronger magnetic forces. These simply cause the bullet to do one of two things, either slow to a stop and get left behind the ship as it moves. Or bounce off into to space. Now say someone fires an energy bolt of some form at the ship. That blast will impact on the plasma fields and be held away from the ship by magnetics, while at the same time being deflected away from the ship. However if the attacker can generate a strong enough EMP against the shield it would reduce the shields strength and though bullets would remain useless, energy weapons would still be 90% effective. Ion weapons are also usefull in weakening the field. Also the field draws more energy the more is thrown at it so simply pounding the ship should cause the crew of that ship to cut power to the shields or risk blowing their syetems.

What dos it do?:Makes whatever or whoever is useing it invisable to all forms of radar/sonar
How dos it work?:Activateing this creates a field around the ship that absorbs micro waves and other waves. Basicly makeing the ship invisable to radar. This requires a very low amount of energy.
*=Plasma Cloaking dos not make the ship invisable. It makes it undetectable by most forms of sensors. Also just like shielding it makes your ship glow purple.
