"Yes sir commander."
I turn to Delta squad.
"You heard the commander, let's move!"
We began to run through the hallways, scouring for any sign of an enemy boarding craft, and heading to the closest known one that was still attached.

"You" i say, pointing to an officer, "Direct Delta Squad to where the boarding parties are." i hit the comm, "Infirmary, when you receive the Captain tell him we are waiting for orders" I watched as the other marine squads head for the surface. I see Cyber fighters heading for them. "Dauntless wing commander, get some of your fighters to cover those landing squads"

The block of units before me ceased to move as we moved in. This was wrong. "This shouldn't be happening" my mind barely noticed, as the two back C-400s began to pivot upon their heels, spewing some mindless command or order. I didn't mentally acknowledge them, instead leaping the last few feet, my hooves and legs firmly launching my form over the last distance.
The pain that shot through my entire form nearly dropped me mid-air.
I did manage although to land, half a foot from my destined location. I let pass my lips a feral roar that I hoped echoed enough of rage to mask the true pained intent of the howl. My arms braced firmly upon the shaft of my weapon and gave forth a swing that tore two of the machineries from their legs, and a third simply knocked aside to hit upon another. My men began to release wave upon wave of careful shots against the cybernetic entities, who in due turn were prepared to return fire against them. The element of surprised was lost, and I was left in the midst of possibly too much.
White shot past my eyes and I lost utter focus of my surroundings. My mind lost contact of itself but a certain female voice shattered through the fog to mutter clearly into my mind several words I knew were too familliar. Words that returned me to the field of current battle. Even as my vision remained mostly unfocused, I took a deep breath and raised my weapon horizontally to force myself forward. Only two columns of the mindless beings turned to face their backside, the others each pressed to fend off the masses on their flanks.
My muscles tightened as resistance met, the heavy metalloid bar impacting upon two cybers' simultaneously, their ballistic rounds shredding through the fabric of my uniform before ceasing. The metal rounds met end upon my torso, the natural shag and flesh providing unlikely armor to the mundane weaponry. Next what followed, matched the initial shattering strike of pain that accompanied my drop, for a plasma round grazed my shoulder besides the neck, unleashing a spray of my lifeblood onto nearby metal entities.
The wound was superficial. It was alright, I could continue. I told myself so. The two beings before me fell finally beneath my shove, the next two fell instead before a swing of my mace-like weapon , their torsos crunched open only far enough to disconnect a proper amount of wiring. Firing another round that singed an inch from the last wound, I noticed the different unit unleashing the occasional blasts that seem to wreak havoc likewise to me as both groups of my men to their sides. The backwards force were scarce in their shots, in fear of striking me, I hoped. Or thought at least. I could distinctively hear various rounds whizzing by my body, unsure of their angles, also uncaring.
The destructive being before me was releasing a shot into the right flanking attack group when I finally came upon it, taking a single swing to remove the metal casing that formed it's skull-like replica, and a second for simple comfort to heavily crush it's torso aside. The pain in my legs at this point overwhelmed me again, the heavy burn of sweat upon my body assailed at times by a sharp wind that shivered my skin, and my mind alike. My weapon became a staff, and I forced myself ahead by sharply painful but effective bounds that crossed maybe ten meters from the unit before I collapsed beneath me. My breaths were heavy, my skin was heavy, my mind was heavy yet through the fog I heard finally that last step of heavy firing that was much alike to my men surpass the enemies in a final barrage of force.
The battle was small, the victory was menial, yet I had harmed myself. I... Had enjoyed myself.

I watched as the alien went to work and finished a few myself before walking over to him. "Nice work" I comment "alright all of you tell your men to set camp here for the night. We and Beta groups forces will attack the city at seven hundred hours. The men shattered trying to find somewhere to sleep and also to remove fallen metal and bodies. We soon came across a cave we could nessel in. I began rubbing sticks together and created a bonfire the seniors sat around with other coming past to warm themselves. "Pretty good back there" I say to the alien "I don't recognize your species and I didn't know any aliens were in the Earth division forces."

The casual whisk of the wind stung to my singed left shoulder, the smoldered flesh and uniform a stench to my nasal slits. I forced myself to my hooves slowly, leaning upon my weapon to glance back upon the two dozen discarded and destroyed C-400s. The men fell in, all converging together in quiet yet slightly less tensed talks amongst each other. At the head of my men, I brought us at a slow pace back into the massive body of soldiers much earlier seperated from us. Amongst the many, many heads bouncing about in action, I noticed one particular figure stand taller than the rest. For a brief moment I had thought he was a kin likewise clashed in the war of the humans yet when I noticed the grotest flesh jut out in the middle of his face like all the other humans, my heart almost sank. Almost.
My gaze remained on this particular being for many moments, and it was as he turned in my direction that my own view diverted aside to some nearby menial task of arranging metalloid corpses about. When his form neared mine, I returned my optics to him, swiftly I took a rapid glance about his figure to scale him mentally. On a quick view to his rank, my right arm snapped upwards in the taugh position, palm spread open and fingertips briefly held at brow level. I dropped the wearied appendage and slumped lightly upon the compliment afterwards received though orders followed. I nodded and saluted again before turning about to release several streams of command to the nearby platoon leaders to arrange their men both in order and in tasks of scouting the perimeter for hospital land to pass the evening.
The minutes passed emptily and the hours began. Progress advanced yet I found myself swarm in so many thoughts, the shallow wound upon my shoulder nearly ceased to pain me still. It was yet another sharp wind that reminded me I was indeed pained and although would not admit it, I was forced to find a medic, making up excuses of having to follow protocol on wounds. I had to deny there being any pain, it was almost subconscious to brush aside the sting to my nerves. Upon my back I felt a warmth I had not felt in many months, the heat of a natural flame. I neared the growing fire to slowly lower myself slowly to the ground, the warm and pulsing heat along the scar of my legs shadowed by the acute warmth before me. Next to me was the large human I had seen before, we were essentially equally heighted, yet my upper torso consisted of slightly more mass than his.
He was the one to initiate conversation none the less, adding a second compliment before questioning my presence amongst the humans. I wasn't sure I could give him the answer I didn't fully know myself yet. "I am... Demire. My people do not like yours much. I do not like my people much, so I must like you. You are bigger than your people. Why, sir? I am an exchanged...? I have taken part in a program your people have. Learn of my people, intergrate me to your war."

I recieved the orders, and moved my squad into position. I stepped around the corner. My sword drawn I charged forwards. Then my squad opened fire, and I hit the ground tp dodge the bullets. The enemy fell, and I got back up and sheathed my sword.
"Next one men!"

Cocks and eyebrow at the Captain (think Spock) "Sir, the engineering team reported in just before you arrived back on the bridge. Shields will be back up in a few moments. Engines should be coming back online....." the engines can be felt through the deck plates coming back online. "... Now. It's amazing what the right motivation can do for a crew, Sir."

I move onto the next boarding craft. As I draw nearer, I hear them coming towards us. I signal for my squad to take cover, and then I draw my sword. The enemy walks around the corner, and I strike. My sword hits, but it snaps in half.
Not good...
My squad gives me cover fire as I punch an enemy and then jump back. I draw my side arm, and fire a clean shot right through the enemies head. After we finish them off, I look at my broken sword.
"Damn it. I had this thing for ages."

Overhead explosions filled the sky in a dazzling lite. The battle overhead had gone for hours andwas likely to go on for hours more to come. I look him over and nod at his words. He was certainly an alien whom had come in search of glory elsewhere than his people and he had demmed this war a forum for that. He species looked like they were built for war and I indeed began to speak myself in a calm yet respectful tone to the alien. "Greetings, yes I am not quiet human. You will have to ask my dea farther and his team the details. Some humans dislike me for my enhancements."

I look on, my ships now in shreds and the battle still continues. "Status of Fleet?" she asks. "We have taken heavy losses" comes the reply. "Have all Alpha ships group up, I have an idea to end this before we lose any more."

"Well Mandelo, the band is here, what do you want us to play?" I said impatiently, standing on the bridge of my ship. The viewscreen split into smaler sections as to alow me to see the fleets Captains.
