Fireworks is made by Macromedia.
And personally I think its better than Photoshop, plus it doesn't seem to be as large a program as Photoshop.
But then it really comes down to personal choice so theres no need to start and argument.

I have and use all of the programs mentioned as well as Paintshop Pro. PSP is my favorite.

Update on this topic which involves Fireworks.
Adobe now, like it was stated earlier, own Macromedia meaning they now own Fireworks, and have just brought out a new version known as Fireworks CS3 which is available to download as a 30 day home trial from the Adobe website.
New features I've seen are the ability to save a file as another extension other than PNG like the version I have.
I personally love it and am definately going to get it when I can afford it.
Till then I'm going to use the 30 day trial.
I suggestion anyone that uses Fireworks to download the new version and check it out for Yourselves.
Also for those that haven't used it and are curious, should also download it and try it.
You can also download Photoshop CS3 if You haven't already got it.
